Cross-Country Skiing |
| There are unlimited options for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Tahoma Meadows is surrounded by state parks, wilderness and national forest. Ulli and I actually do quite a bit of snowshoeing at night under the moonlight. You would be amazed at just how bright it is. Just grab your gear and go. |

If you want to go into the back country the skiing is unlimited.
West Shore Sports - X-C & Snowshoe rentals Homewood, 530-525-9920 (Our guests receive discount and open late on Fridays so you can avoid the morning rush) Dave's Ski Shop - Tahoe City - Gear Rental The Backcountry - Tahoe City & Truckee 530-581-5861 Sugar Pine Pt. State Park: Within walking distance (20 minutes through the neighborhood) . Ski the trails of the 1960 Olympics. Groomed striding lanes. Some skating is available where the trails allow. Sorry doggers are not allowed on these trails. Tahoe Cross Country: Located just east of Tahoe city 530-587-9484 Northstar-at-Tahoe: Great family resort. Just north between Kings Beach and Truckee. 530-562-1010 Royal Gorge: On the summit off old hwy 40. A great place to ski on the way up or down the hill. 530-426-3871 Desolation Wilderness and the Tahoe National Forest - Unlimited un-groomed trails. Snow Shoeing: If you can walk you can snow shoe. All of our hiking trails make great snow shoeing trails during the winter months. We actually do most of our snow shoeing at night. If the moon is out at all you don't even need a flash light. For the winter of 2004-05 we hope to be offering in-house rentals. |

the B&B.
